Flameless atomic absorption spectrophotometry of selenium in whole blood.
In this method of analysis for selenium in whole blood by flameless atomic absorption spectrophotometry, 1 mL of sample is first digested with perchloric and nitric acids. After reduction and neutralization, the sample is reacted with 2,3-diaminonaphthalene, and the product is extracted into toluene. Twenty microliters of the extract is injected into the graphite furnace of a flameless atomic a...
متن کامل[Direct determination of lead in blood by flameless atomic absorption spectrophotometry].
A simple and direct method for determining lead in blood by flameless atomic absorption spectrophotometry was developed by modifying the method of Hodges and Skelding (1983). In the present method, a graphite tube was coated with molybdenum and both Triton X-100 and phosphoric acid were added to heparinized whole blood. The calibration curve for lead determination, prepared by adding standard l...
متن کاملDetermination of ultrafiltrable zinc in plasma by flameless atomic absorption spectrophotometry.
Ultrafiltrable zinc can be determined in small volumes of plasma by using Amicon ultrafiltration membrane cones and either flameless atomic absorption spectrophotometry or 65Zn. The ultrafiltration membrane cone is made sufficiently zinc-free by acid washing, followed by rinsing with de-ionized water. Within-run CVs were 12 and 10%, respectively, for the two methods. Matrix effects are compensa...
متن کاملDirect determination of lead and cadmium in blood and urine by flameless atomic absorption spectrophotometry.
We describe procedures for direct determination of lead and cadmium in blood and urine by flameless atomic absorption spectrophotometry. Before analysis, the samples are pre-ashed in microboats in an ordinary laboratory oven. In this way, many samples can be prepared and pre-ashed simultaneously. We find the procedures presented in this work to be rapid, accurate, and precise.
متن کاملDetermination of urinary manganese by the direct chelation-extraction method and flameless atomic absorption spectrophotometry.
The direct chelation-extraction method, originally developed by Hessel (1968) for blood lead analysis, has been successfully applied to urinalysis for manganese. The analyses of 35 urine samples containing up to 100 microgram/1 of manganese from manganese-exposed workers showed that the data obtained by this method agree well with those by wet digestion-flame atomic absorption spectrophotometry...
